With the advent of newer technologies like Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Hyperbaric oxygen, Various  growth  factors advancements in culturing techniques, newer and more efficacious antibiotics and spread of awareness amongst patients and care givers, it has today become possible to salvage many diabetic legs with infection gangrene etc, which was not possible earlier.

With effect from 1st Feb 2011, we have started offering our services at Bristlecone Hospitals at Barkathpura, to enable the reach of our specialized services to a larger spectrum of people in Hyderabad.

The first Scientific session of the Wound Care Forum, Hyderabad was held at Celebrity Club, Begumpet on 18th Feb 2011. It was well attended by specialists from various faculties like Vascular Surgeons, physicians, Diabetologists, Surgeons,Dermatologists from across the city. The meeting discussed various aspects of wound care for chronic non healing wounds especially the treatment of Diabetic Foot complications and ulcers due to Varicose Veins. Well known dermatologist Dr Pavithra Vani Patalay  and  myself, delivered the lectures to the gathering which was followed by animated and enthusiastic discussions on how to help patients with such wounds. The session was chaired by Dr PC Gupta, well known Vascular Surgeon & Dr VK Somani the renowned dermatologist.

The last meeting of the wound care forum was held as scheduled on 17th June 2011 at Celebrity Club Begumpet. Topics were "Lower Limb Dopplers-A Radiologists Perspective" and "Common Venous Problems of the Lower Limb"

About 40 doctors participated with a good mix of dermatologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons and diabetologists. There was good interaction about various problems of the lower limb as well as clearing of various doubts by the radiologist Dr Ruju Doshi, who presented the lecture. 

The next meet of the forum is scheduled to be held on 19th August. Shall list the programme on this space.
